Shannon Beador shows a lot for the cameras on Real Housewives of Orange County. She’s been open about some of the most uncomfortable moments, (i.e. her marital problems with dead eyes David Beador and their subsequent divorce, gaining and now losing weight, and the struggle for financial independence). This season, however, we’re set to see a different side of Shannon as she navigates dating life.
The lemon-enthusiast and mom of three has also been able to share more of her family life on RHOC than co-star TamraJudge, for instance. She still appears to have a tumultuous relationship with her daughter and ex-husband Simon Barney. But other than being beautiful and athletic, we still don’t know much about Shannon’s daughters. Sophie is 18, and twins Stella and Adeline are 15. We do, unfortunately, know that the three young women have witnessed their parents process their divorce, both on and off-camera.
Divorce impacts children, whether their parents are in the spotlight or not. I can’t imagine what it would be like to watch and relive your parents’ worst fights on reality TV. Soon, we may have more of an idea of what this feels like. Shannon’s oldest daughter, Sophie, is making plans to write a book about her parents’ very public divorce.
In an exclusive interview for Bravo’s The Daily Dish, Shannon shared that Sophie is “in the process of writing a book about divorce and how it affected her as a child, which I think is amazing.” I’m not sure how amazing Shannon thinks this is, because she also added, “You know, it might hurt me in the long run because goodness knows what stories she might tell about me.” I guess Tamra’s right that it is “always me, me, me, I, I, I” with Shannon.

Shannon also shared that Sophie is considering college – and not the University of Spoiled Children (trademark Kelly Dodd). “Sophie is clear in what she wants,” Shannon said. “She wants to go to a football school in the south where there’s nice southern men. She’s not gonna budge from that. So, I don’t know if USC is in the cards for her.”
She added, “I think it’s good. She’s more adventurous, so I think it’s good for her to get out of state. She’ll do very well.” It might actually be really good for Sophie to get away from it all.

Sophie is getting ready to start her senior year of high school. It sounds like she has a solid sense of purpose, considering what she’s been through. In spite of Shannon and David’s public messiness, Sophie has turned out well. As Shannon shared, “she just wants to help people. She’s got such a good heart, so I can’t wait to see what she does.”
Either way, she’ll be OK. A book could be therapeutic for Sophie. Plus, with her mom’s fame, I think it’ll sell!
