Dorinda Medley Thinks It’s “Pretty Obvious” Barbara Kavovit Doesn’t Fit On Real Housewives Of New York

On the Real Housewives of New York reunion, Dorinda Medley compared Barbara Kavovit to a turnip in a fruit basket. Aside from the time Dorinda kicked Barbara out of their apartment, the two of them never truly went at it during the season.

At the start, Barbara disinvited Dorinda from her clambake, which was a total mistake. Barbara could have blessed us all with another epic scene of Dorinda angrily slurring. Instead, Barbara just fell flat this season. For the most part, she did nothing terribly wrong. Yes, she had another hot mic moment aimed at Luann de Lesseps, but as Luann said herself, Lu is no Adele.

In an interview with HollywoodLife, Dorinda discussed how she is so out of the loop when it comes to RHONY casting decisions. She shared, “I think what people don’t realize is they don’t really get us usually involved. Like, I didn’t know Barbara was coming on until I saw Barbara come on.”

She continued, “Listen, I always think it’s great — not only for the cast, but for the audience — to see new blood. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn’t.” That is a pretty general sentiment, but Dorinda got a bit more specific.

Dorinda remarked, “And when it doesn’t work out, as you saw this year, it’s pretty obvious fairly quickly.” The ONLY new person on the show this year was Barbara, just in case anyone forgot. Subtle, Dorinda.

Still, Dorinda insisted, “I’m always very open and welcome to new people coming. If it works, it works.”And clearly, Dorinda wants to remove a turnip from the fruit bowl.
